I Hear Foot Steps is the first Gospel C D to be recorded by, myself, Jay McGee.Although I began as a Gospel singer from a child, I strayed away in my adulthood.The lure was following my  favorite Gospel singer,Sam Cooke,whom ventured into, and remained in secular music,until his untimely death. Even though,in my heart,I felt, as many others did, that leaving Gospel music was a contributing factor towards Sam Cooke's death, I somehow, never felt that it might also be dangerous for me.

          When you don't have a relationship with The Lord it shows in your decision making. After  a margin of success on Canadian and European  radio, it started to dawn on me that Almighty God had a call on my life and I was beginning to spin my wheels.My wife,Keziah,confirmed it for me when she simply said to me,"Babe, it's obvious to me that God is blocking your path to the secular music world."I then began to pout .I was feeling as if I could not spend that many years studying and trying to refine a gift, just to hear ,"You've been wasting your time." Thankfully,the Heavenly Father stepped into my life and showed me all was not in vain, that He allowed me to learn my craft so that I could use it to His Glory.

          Even though I didn't immediately surrender,that's another story,I eventually came to my senses.I truly believe that"I Hear Foot Steps" is a reward from The Lord in response to my obedience. If you realize that God has a call on your life, you only waste precious time by trying to avoid it. In the end, He will win and you'll be glad He did.
