"Good for nothing"......We've all heard that phrase at some point in our lives, whether it was directed at us or someone else. First, let me say this. To tell someone that they are good for nothing, is one of the most cruel statements that you could ever make. It is stating that, the one at whom the words are directed, has no redeeming factors. In other words, there is nothing.... no thing good or worthwhile about them. Christ Jesus says in the book of MATTHEW chapter 7 and verses 1 through 3,"Judge not, that ye(you) be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged; and with what measure ye mete(use), it shall be measured to you again(you shall be treated the same way). And why beholdest thou(why are you looking at) the mote(speck) that is in thy(your) brother's eye, but considerest not the beam(plank) that is in thine(your)own eye."
No one knows the heart of another person, as much as they think they might. We form opinions about others, based on what we've known them to do or say from past experiences. We all have a past and most of us would like to leave the past in the past. Why not show someone else the same courtesy? As long as we are alive and our mind is functioning properly, regardless to what we might have done, we are good for God because He is always desiring to save our souls.
Man can only see the natural man, unless he is saved and seeing with spiritual discernment. In the case of seeing with spiritual discernment, a person would not judge another because they would be seeing with the mind of Christ. In other words, they would be looking with a heart of love and compassion. If we truly believe God, and take Him at His word, then we must know that He means it when He says,"All souls are mine". He is able to change the hearts of every man and woman, once they submit their lives to Him. All we have to do is say yes to Christ Jesus and we're good for the Kingdom of God. And that's as Good as it gets.
