I've noticed,
from my digital downloads and CD sales, that the major part of my music
that is being purchased is the traditional songs and hymns. Since that
is the most preferred style of Gospel music, I have decided to use this
section of the site to feature soundbites and some insight into how I
came to record the CD "Reflections".
The reason
that the songs on "Reflections" are so
special to me is because they are some of the songs that I grew up
listening to from a young child. They are the types of songs that my
mother, father, and grandparents sang. Thanks, to those songs, we had a
sense of spirituality and a knowledge of who Jesus Christ is. These are
the songs that helped them to hold it together, through some hard times,
and drew them closer to The Lord, bringing them to the point of
salvation... now that is power. And since the Word declares that it's
the anointing which breaks the yoke, I am led to believe that the
anointing is, and has been, upon these songs, from their very beginning.
How else could a song make someone want to turn their whole life around
and leave off everything that they thought was important to them. Thank
The Lord for the anointing!!! For instance, a song like "Amazing Grace", written by a former slave trader who found God after
a very wretched lifestyle. This could only have been inspired by the
Holy Spirit because of the lyrics, the affect that it had upon the
writer, and the affect that it has on people today, over 200 years
later. Each one of these songs has a message to many hearts, and have
had, for decades now. As you sample the songs, do so with a reflective
heart, and hopefully, they will transport your mind back to a better
place and time.
